The US Is Going To Lose The War In Afghanistan

The US High Command is blind and ignorant, refusing to accept historical precedents which only point towards their eventual defeat in Afghanistan. And their generals saying they are different and will not repeat the past doesn’t make it so.

The US is going to lose the war in Afghanistan. The historical precedents are there. The US High Command is being dumb and repeating all the same stupid mistakes they made in the Vietnam war. And saying fervently that the situation in Afghanistan is different doesn’t make it so.

The US lost the Vietnam war. There is no need to look for ridiculous excuses as to why they lost, such as the ones many American pundits and historians use, that they weren’t beaten militarily but politically. This is utter nonsense. They lost militarily, fair and square. Yes, they killed more Vietnamese (4 million dead) than the Vietnamese killed Americans (50,000 dead). But that is hardly the point. If winning wars was based on this kind of statistic, then by rights Germany and Japan actually won the second world war. Some estimates put the amount of high explosive dropped on Vietnam by the Americans was ten times that of the total combined tonnage used in the second world war by all sides but they still lost.
